Dear DOF Members,
It is a pleasure to extend greetings as the president of National Information Society Agency (NIA), Korea's principal agency devoted to informatization.
NIA is a newly launched organization in place of National Information Society Agency (NIA) and Korea Agency for Digital Opportunity and Promotion (KADO) since May 2009.
As the head of the new Agency, I am well aware of the previous efforts pursued by KADO to bridge the international digital divide. While the contribution that these efforts-Korea IT Learning (KoIL) Program, Korea Internet Volunteers (KIV) Program, Internet Access Centers (IAC) Project, ICT Cooperation Center (ICTCC) Project and ICT Consulting Program-have made to the global cooperation is widely acknowledged, I also commend your support and collaboration that has been the solid bedrock that turn our efforts into success.
Although the appellation KADO had been substituted with NIA, KADO's vision of creating an inclusive digital environment in the global society is promised to endure.
The Agency will be at the frontline with its partnering countries in contributing to the global informatization, thereby facilitating universal access to the benefits of the information communication technologies (ICTs).
I appreciate your continuing support and cooperation, and look forward to greeting you in person in future occasions.
